Sean Taylor Shot In Leg; In Critical Condition

Early Monday morning Redskins safety Sean Taylor was shot in the leg during a home invasion according to Espn. Apparently, Taylor and his girlfriend were waken by loud noises. Taylor then grabbed a machete near his bedside, when the intruder came through the bedroom door and fired 2 shots. One shot hitting Taylor in the leg, hitting a major artery and causing major blood loss.

Police are investigating whether this was a robbery. The shooting came eight days after an intruder was seen at Taylor's home.

Taylor had surgery to repair femoral artery.

After surgery, Taylor was responsive to doctors, which came as very good news.

This story is just plain CRAZY and SAD at the same time. Taylor's daughter was in the home at the time of the shooting. Things turned out quite bad, but could have been much worse. Hopefully Taylor can make a full recovery.

I do have a few thoughts on the matter. Without bashing Taylor's name, he was not known as an alter boy during his college and NFL career. He had run-ins with the law at times and was known as (according to Clinton Portis) "The craziest Hurricane in the programs history". Which has a list of the most troublesome players of all time.

My point is, this happened at Taylor's Miami home. Which has been his breeding ground for years. Is this simply Karma catching up with him? Without knowing hardly any facts to the story, I am going to go out on a limb and say this was more personal than a random burglary.

If eight days ago and intruder was spotted at him home, then he is shot. My opinion is someone had in in for him more than just because of his wealth and fame. It is just a bizzare story.

Hope all goes well for Taylor and his family. I don't know what the odds are but I enjoyed watching Taylor on the field and hope one day he can return.
